Groton for Easy Travel

The town of Groton is a pretty place located in the American state of Connecticut, and is found halfway between the cities of New York and Boston. Water scenery is abundant in Groton, as it is surrounded by the Thames and Mystic Rivers, and is also home to many beautiful national parks that provide spectacular vistas. Because of its stunning water life, Groton is also home to the newly opened University of Connecticut Marine Sciences centre, where students can study the unique water habitats and their inhabitants.

Cheap airline tickets to Groton are easily found, with an airport located within the town, and from there transport is easy along any of the major routes – boasting four exits from I95 and two Amtrak stations, getting into, out of and around Groton couldn’t be easier.

A place not to be missed while passing through or staying in Groton, is Fort Griswold. Located in Groton Heights, it was the primary defence for Groton and saw many battles between the British and the Americans. Another important military tourist attraction is the U.S. Navy Submarine Force Museum, which is also home to the USS Nautilus. Situated on the Thames River, it is a place to call into, to experience navy life aboard a submarine.
